Ylläs is the cross-country skier's dream location. There’s 330 km perfectly maintained network of ski tracks. No matter if you’re an expert or beginner, there’s a suitable route for you in Ylläs.
You can plan your route beforehand or just spontaneously follow the well-marked tracks as far as your body and the weather conditions allow.
You’ll find cozy cafés and restaurants every few kilometers where you can buy locally produced food and drinks.
If you want to bring your own snacks you can stop for a break in picturesque outside resting places with open fireplaces.
Ski packages.
Ylläs Villas offers guests high-quality ski packages including skis, poles, and shoes in all adult sizes. This is included in the weekly rent. There’s also a ski preparation room including all equipment you need to prepare your skis to suit the snow conditions.
Trails, routes, and cafés.
The easiest way to plan and execute skiing trips is with the help of a handy winter sports map. Such maps are on sale in most of the stores, cafés and tourist lodges in Ylläs. You can also purchase an online version for 10€/winter season here. Profits are used to maintain the Ylläs ski track network.

Ski service in Äkäslompolo / Ylläs.
Ski Service Teemu Haavisto takes care of cross-country skis with a World Cup-level Tazzari ski grinding machine. Teemu also provides ski waxing and repair services in Äkäslompolo and the Ylläs area.
